Fresh crisis has erupted within the APC in Osun State as a coalition of civil society organisations under the Centre for Good Governance, Civic Enlightenment and Community Development (CEGCECD) raised alarm over an alleged plot to impose a candidate accused of submitting forged certificates during the party’s primary election in Boripe/Ifelodun/Odo-Otin Federal Constituency.

The coalition alleged that the aspirant, Eniade Francis Olwadamilare, submitted questionable credentials, including a reportedly forged WAEC O’Level certificate, during the screening process.

According to the group, the documents were allegedly discovered during routine verification and later confirmed to be fraudulent after checks with issuing authorities.

Despite the alleged findings, CEGCECD claimed powerful political forces within the APC are pushing to forcefully install the aspirant as the party’s candidate ahead of the general election.

The coalition has now threatened a major legal battle, revealing that its lawyers have been instructed to seek a court order stopping the party from recognising the candidacy.

“This is a direct attack on democracy and electoral integrity,” the coalition declared, warning that no candidate accused of certificate forgery should be allowed near the ballot.

The group also called on INEC to reject any attempt to validate the candidacy pending the outcome of court proceedings.
